She made the announcement at a news conference held at the Opposition Leader’s Office in Colombo this evening (08), flanked by former President Chandrika Kumaratunga.

Hirunika, who is the daughter of the later MP Bharatha Lakshman Premachandra, topped the preferential votes list at the last Western Provincial Council elections.
