Gammanpila's wife has caused the accident when he was a leading politician of Hela Urumaya.

According to Anti Corruption Front the vehicle involved in the accident is a car registered under KS-4655 which was driven by Gammanpila's wife and a young man who was riding a motorcycle has been hit.

Following the accident the car has not stopped at the scene and later Mirihana Police has identified the car, as a witness to the accident has informed the license plate number to the police.

Accordingly it was identified that it is the official vehicle provided to Provincial Minister of Agriculture, Agrarian Development, Minor Irrigation, Industries, Environment, Culture and Art Affairs in Western Provincial Council.

Udaya Gammanpila who held the particular position had been abroad during the particular period and it was revealed that the accident was caused by his wife, Anti Corruption Front has stated.

There had been no information as to what happened to the motorcyclist who was involved in the incident.

The attempt to contact Udaya Gammanpila to inquire about the incident failed.
