He says he will not give promises to create a utopia or a country full of expressways and high-rise buildings.

The president was speaking at a function at the BMICH to mark the first anniversary of March 12 Movement.

He noted that the political leaderships should lead by example, adding that if the leaders are corrupt and frauds, followers will become the same.

The Movement aims to bring about a positive change in the Sri Lankan political culture, said PAFFREL executive director Rohana Hettiarachchi.
