According to the report, Capt. Tissa had given many calls, before and after the murder, to one of the three special telephones that had been used by top VVIPs in the country.

At that time, the telephone in question had been used from Tangalle by Namal.

Former DIG Anura Senanayake and several others too, are to be arrested by the CID.

On February 25, Colombo additional magistrate Nishantha Peiris declared Thajudeen had been murdered, and ordered the arrest of all suspects.

Peiris said he had based his ruling on six reports, including two judicial medical reports, the government analyst’s report and a genetic test report, as well as the CID submissions.

On the same day, MPs in the joint opposition discussed Namal’s impending arrest.

Meanwhile, Mahinda Rajapaksa told the media today (28) after paying homage at Sri Dalada Maligawa in Kandy that his wife and the eldest son would soon be arrested.

However, president Maithripala Sirisena has told SLFP MPs in the government that prime minister Ranil Wickremesinghe and himself have taken a policy decision not to arrest the three Rajapaksas – Mahinda, Shiranthi and Namal.
