The two unqualified officials have been appointed sans proper procedure, it adds.
Speaking to the newspaper, several officials of the Health ministry have said that two Acting posts of deputy Director General (Medical Supplies) and deputy Director General (non contagious diseases) were created and the appointments were made after obtaining cabinet approval on Feb. 24.
According to proper procedure, the appointments should be made after the Public Service Commission calls for applications from qualified candidates, these officials say.
Should the appointments be made in an acting capacity, there are more qualified officials than the two individuals who were appointed, they add.
'Ravaya' further says that attempts to contact Health Services Director General Palitha Mahipala on this regard, have been unsuccessful.
