Deputy Minister of Social Empowerment and Welfare - Ranjan Ramanayake says rumours regarding a deal struck between President Maithripala Sirisena, Prime minister Ranil Wickremesinghe and former President Mahinda Rajapaksa were squashed after the arrest of Yoshitha Rajapaksa.

Rumours cited that the Rajapaksas remain scot free due to a deal between President Maithripala Sirisena, Prime minister Ranil Wickremesinghe and former President Mahinda Rajapaksa.

Ramanayake was speaking during a media briefing in Colombo today (26).

He said that the Rajapaksas were compelled to go to Prisons and before commissions because of the misdeeds they committed while they were in power.

Ramanayake also said that although he had received 28 Letters Of Demand with regard to exposés he had made, only one case has been filed.

Speaking further, the deputy minister said that Wimal Weerawansa was compelled to face a disciplinary committee due to his misdeeds.
