The private medical college in Malabe (SAITM) continues to recruit students even after the Sri Lanka Medical Council declared it would not recognize medical degrees offered by SAITM, charges Sri Lanka Medical Officers Association.

In a letter to the SLMC, the association notes a SAITM advertisement to recruit students on pages eight and nine of Mawbima’s February 18 issue.

The advertisement claims SAITM has approval of all the relevant institutions, which is in an attempt to further mislead students and their parents, the association charges.

It requests SLMC’s mediation to prevent this attempt.
