An inquiry report will be called on inviting a infamous provincial politician as a guest of a school sports meet, despite him making a teacher of the same school kneel before him sometime back.

Former Wayamba Provincial councillor - Ananda Kumara was recently invited as a guest for the Sports Meet of the Navodhya school in Navagaththegama, despite his misdeed.

He had received a grand welcome and was escorted to the visitors' pavilion by the school band.

Education minister of the province - Sandya Kumara Rajapakshe said that an inquiry report is expected and that it was wrong to welcome such a person in this manner.

Earlier, the Ceylon Teachers' Union too, criticised this move, calling it an insult for all teachers.

Sarath Kumara was even punished by the judiciary for his action and was refused candidacy at the Wayamba PC polls by the UPFA as an individual who had been punished by courts.
