Dr. Athula Kahandaliyanage is to be posted as its chairman and Dr. Kamal Jayasinghe as the CEO.

Presently a consultant to a milk powder company, Dr. Kahandaliyanage was the director general of health services and the health secretary prior to his retirement from public service.

He has come under fire for providing his services to a private milk powder company.

The Authority has been tasked with implementing the Senaka Bibile drug policy.

Its chairman Prof. Lal Jayakody and CEO Prof. Krishantha Weerasuriya have tendered their resignations.
