The report was submitted when the Writ petition filed by the Siyane Water Protection Association was taken up for hearing this morning (08).

The petitioners have argued the findings of the report showed that the underground water resources in Rathupaswala do not meet the standers expected by the Sri Lanka Standards Institute.

The Court had earlier ordered the CEA to present an inquiry report in this regard on or before February 08. Several tests were conducted by the CEA to determine whether water obtained from the underground water resources within the area is suitable for drinking.
