‘5 private hospital involved in kidney racket’ Featured

A group, including certain doctors, was involved in the kidney transplant racket in Sri Lanka, said a committee that inquired into the matter.

Head of the five-member committee, deputy director general of health services Dr. Jayasundara Bandara made the revelation at the handover of their report to health minister Dr. Rajitha Senaratne today (05).

This racket had been going on at five private hospitals, he also said.

The committee carried out the investigation from January 23.

Other members of the committee are deputy director general of health services Dr. Lakshmi Somatunga, senior assistant secretary Rohana de Silva, director Dr. Kamal Jayasinghe and Dr. Rajapriya Balasuriya.
