Indian support for probe into KP?

Indian support for probe into KP? Featured

The court of appeal says investigators need to pay attention to the petitioner’s suggestion that the support of the Indian police should be sought in probing former LTTE leader Kumaran Padmanathan alias KP.

CA chairman Vijith Malalgoda said so while taking up a petition filed by JVP MP Vijitha Herath seeking an order for the arrest of KP and producing him before courts.

The acting attorney general informed the court that the TID was investigating as to whether KP was linked to the crimes committed by the LTTE.

The petitioner informed the court that an Indian court has issued a warrant for KP’s arrest in connection with the murder of former prime minister Rajiv Gandhi.

The next hearing of the case has been fixed for May 09.
