Reminder to advertisers that women are not objects (video)

Reminder to advertisers that women are not objects (video) Featured

Objectification of women is a thing that exists even in a sandwich advertisement.

In a video posted on YouTube channel WomenNotObjects, women highlight the ridiculous ways many companies use female bodies as a way to promote their products.

Using a Carl's Jr. commercial and a perfume ad as evidence of this objectification, the stars of the video sarcastically explain what these promotional messages say about women.

"I'd sell my body for a burger," one woman said. "Obviously my cleavage can sell anything," said another.

Using the hashtag #WomenNotObjects, the creators behind the video encourage others to join the cause. If their message is heard louder than the ones portrayed in these ads, perhaps the advertising industry will start to see women as more than mere props.
