59% for Maithri : 41% for Mahinda - Ravaya

59% for Maithri : 41% for Mahinda - Ravaya Featured

"Ravaya" claims that the Head of State Intelligence Service (SIS), DIG Chandra Wakishta, had been removed from his post after the intelligence service had informed the President that the opposition’s common candidate Maithripala Sirisena would obtain 59 percent of the vote compared to just 41 percent for the president at the upcoming presidential election on January 8.

The figures were made available to the president following a survey conducted by the SIS, the report further claims.

The newspaper also reports that another reason for the President to direct his anger towards the head of SIS is him being unable to recover information in time on government Ministers and MPs including Maithripala Sirisena were to cross over to the opposition.

When inquired about this report a senior official at Ministry of Mass Media and Information stated that the 'Ravaya' report is completely false.

However,a member of 'Ravaya' editorial emphasized the information published in the newspaper to be true.
