Navin Dissanayake, the Minister of Public Management Reforms has sent his letter of resignation to the President last evening (29).

He is to join United National Party (UNP) next week.

He has taken the particular decision in order to extend his support to the common candidate Maithripala Sirisena at the upcoming presidential election, reports say.

Navin Dissanayake is the son-in-law of UNP leadership council Chairman Karu Jayasuriya.
