He was thus issued bail as he did not appear before court for two hearings on the case pertaining to a clash took place at three wheeler park in Ragama. Chathura Senaratne was indicated as a suspect in the case filed at the Negombo Magistrate Court.

Chathura Senaratne was kept in court cell until the bail conditions were fulfilled , reports say.

The police had reported to court regarding an incident where Chathura Senaratne threatened a group of youth with death as they remained in police custody. The youth were reportedly arrested over the clash which took place at the three wheeler park near Ragama flyover.

The clash took place on 14 September, 2015 between two groups of supporters of two politicians regarding the ownership of the three wheeler park.

Two individuals who sustained severe injuries had been admitted to Ragama Teaching Hospital.
