Scam behind reducing Grade V scholarship cut-off mark? Featured

The decision to reduce the Grade V scholarship cut off mark by one mark is just the tip of the iceberg of a racket involving a school Principal, reports say

It is said that the measure was taken due to a Principal of a popular school in Colombo opening up an extra Grade 6 class.

Reports add that the extra Grade 6 class has been in function for several years and that the ministry of Education has initiated an inquiry on this regard.

The Principal, who has been aided by several teachers and old students, has already been transferred.

The Principal had earlier faced charges of misusing money collected to paint a school in Colombo, sources add.
