The Ministry of Skills Development and Vocational Training says that they are prepared to accept students for courses even if the students have failed their GCE A/Ls.

Skills Development and Vocational Training minister - Range Bandara says that opportunities exist for students who have passed and failed their GCE A/L exam.

Several institutes including the Ocean University of Sri Lanka, German Tech, and the Vocational Training Authority have introduced a host of courses for such youth.

The minister said that such institutes have trained over 70,000 persons so far.

He further said that authorities aimed to train over 110,000 from this year onwards.
