A lorry transporting goods for a musical show on December 28 to mark the 13th anniversary of the Civil Aviation Authority has collided with an aircraft parked at the aerodrome.

Damage has been caused to the Airbus 340 with the SriLankan Airlines registration no. 4R-ADE.

The aircraft had been obtained on lease from an European country, and after leasing period, it had been parked at the aerodrome in order to return to the owner.

Three large aircraft had been parked at the aerodrome during the musical show, although such places are not used as venues for musical shows because of safety concerns.

There are rumours the show had been organized by misleading ITN by a person named Prabhath Kularatne, newly recruited by the Authority, in order to make top officials of the Authority happy.

Less than 10 top officials of the Authority were present to witness the show.
