The apparent controversy that rose over the throwing of a brassiere at the recent concert of Enrique Iglesias in Colombo had reached a debating form after a recent comment made by deputy Foreign minister - Harsha de Silva, reports say.

Posting a photograph with the President taken at a Christmas function in Colombo on his official Facebook 'like' page, the Deputy Minister said, "Here is another side of the President. The other day at Christmas carols at the Arcade. On the bra matter let's keep politics out of it. We got bigger things to worry about."

The President's recent critical comments on the show sparked mass outrage, especially in social media.

Speaking at Shilpa – 2015’; National Handicraft Award Ceremony held yesterday (29) at ‘Ape Gama’ premises in Battaramulla, the President responded to these criticisms.

“The ideas I expressed regarding the musical show of a foreign singer, are now being used to disgrace me in the internet. Those who are doing this should remember that they are destroying their own proud culture and the pride of a great nation”, the President further stated.

The highest value of our culture is when it can be more powerful than the Law, the President added.
