A one Second Lieutenant Abeyratne has been arrested on Dec. 28, reports say.

CID investigations have revealed that this suspect has been attached to the Giritale Army Camp as a Sergeant Major where Ekneligoda was detained after his abduction.

The arrested Second Lieutenant is to be produced before courts under charges of being connected to the abduction, detention and disappearance of Ekneligoda.

At the present, five including two lieutenant Colonels have been remanded in connection to the case.
