Overheads of 6 ministries in WPC defeated

Overheads of six ministries including the Health Ministry held by Nishantha Sri Warnasinghe of the Jathika Hela Urumaya of the Western Provincial council were defeated today.

45 members voted against the overheads of the six ministries while 23 members voted for.

17 UNP members and 4 UPFA members voted for the overheads while a group of UPFA members, JVP and Democratic Party members voted against the overheads of Nishantha Sri Warnasinghe’s ministries.

Opposition Leader of the Western Provincial Council Manju Sri Arangala said that the Chief Minister Isura Devapriya was absent at the time of vote taking.
