Ministry coordinating secy. nabbed with gold

A coordinating secretary of the Postal Service and Muslim Affairs Ministry has been arrested by the customs, when he tried to smuggle in gold worth Rs. 2 million, at the Bandaranayake International Airport this morning.

Customs Media Spokesman Leslie Gamini said the customs recovered four gold bars weighing 400 g that were concealed in the suspect’s rectum.

He said the suspect had arrived at the BIA from Singapore.
