Fonseka was the Army commander, when Wickramatunga was shot dead in Janaury 2009 in Ratmalana, a high security zone.
The then Brig. Keppetiwalana, a Fonseka loyalist, had been in charge of this zone at the time.
Former top intelligence officer Amal Karunasekara, who is very close to ex-defence secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa, is accused of concealing information regarding the killing.
He is said to have misplaced the jouranlist’s notebook in the custody of the then IGP Jayantha Wickremaratne.
The notebook, on which Wickramatunga had noted down the numbers of the vehicles that had been coming after him, was to be produced as material evidence in court by Mt. Lavinia police.
Statements have already been recorded from senior DIG Prasanna Nanayakkara, SSP Hemantha Adhikari and Mt. Lavinia OIC Mahesh Perera.
