Sign language dictionary developed

Sign language dictionary developed Featured

A sign language dictionary has been developed to enable persons with hearing disabilities to communicate with others with regard to their health concerns.

Project officer on youth affairs at the UNFPA Dulitha Harshana Jayasekara is the creator of this dictionary.

He has been assisted in the effort by the UNPFA and the Social Empowerment and Welfare Ministry.

This sign language dictionary deals especially with the communication of sexual and reproductive health issues of persons with hearing disabilities.

Absence of such a dictionary had been a hurdle when teaching them about reproductive health at school.
