Meanwhile, a former deputy Deputy Director of the SEC - Dhammika Manjira Perera and Ronnie Ibrahim of the 'Tharunyata Hetak' organisation have been arrested yesterday evening over an alleged misuse of funds at the SEC.

Police spokesperson - ASP Ruwan Gunasekara said that they were arrested as suspects with regard to the alleged misuse of funds.

They face charges of granting Rs. 05 million to the 'Tharunyata Hetak' organisation of MP Namal Rajapaksa. It is said that the granting of the monies was approved by Nalaka Godahewa.
