Karu to be appointed as deputy media minister

The Deputy Minister of Provincial Councils and Local Government Karunarathna Paranawithana is to swear in tomorrow (03) as the Deputy Minister of Parliament Reforms and Mass Media.

Paranawithana who is a veteran journalist, has served as the Secretary to the Ministry of Mass Media.

He is a graduate of University of Colombo and has pursued further studies in London.

He has also served as the Consul General of Sri Lanka in Toronto, Canada and the Director General of Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation .
