The Lotus Road is currently closed due to the demonstration where protesters are urging the authorities to provide them with jobs immediately.

Speaking, convener of the collective - Dhammika Munasinghe says that there are 30,000 job vacancies as the government lacks a proper job procedure for graduates since March 2012.

"The previous government did not formulate any plan on this regard and the present government is yet to give any attention on this regard. The minister of education says that 4,000 vacancies exist in national schools alone. However, there are no answers yet. Therefore, we say that the government should immediately intervene to provide a solution for this issue," he says.
