No lenses for Nelum Pokuna lights

No lenses for Nelum Pokuna lights Featured

Ten lights of the main stage at the Nelum Pokuna Mahinda Rajapaksa Theatre are lacking the required lenses, reports say.

The theatre is considered as the best theatre in Sri Lanka and it is charged around Rs. 800,000 when the theatre is rented for a show.

However, due to the issues in the lighting at the venue, one is compelled to pay extra for outsourcing lighting facilities.

'Sri Lanka Mirror' learns from reliable sources that a prominent singer whose recent show was fully booked, had to undergo a Rs. 100,000 loss.

Also, it is said that the main stage is not properly visible to 28 seats.

Built at a cost of Rs. 3000 million, 95% of the theatre's building materials were imported from China.
