The Association warns that the trade union action will lead to a standstill of bypass and open heart surgeries at the Colombo National Hospital, Karapitiya Teaching Hospital and Kandy General Hospital.

Speaking, secretary of the Association - Thilak Dharmaratne said that although they have made a formal request from the Health ministry secretary to hold a discussion pertaining to several of their demands, they are yet to receive a response.

He added that they will resort to trade union action if they are not granted a discussion by Nov. 11.
