Addressing an event organized by Ministry of Health at 'Ape Gama' today (Nov 21), Sirisena further said he has served as the Health Minister more than 5 years.

“Time will change a lot of things. This might even be my last state event. We will let the time decide", Minister Maithripala Sirisena said has said further.

He was one and half hours late for the event.

"The public gives their mandate not to suppress them. Nor is it given to accumulate money, and to engage in frauds and corruptions, but to serve the public and the country. When the power is obtained it should not be misused. Public should not be suppressed. One should not be drunk with power. The guardian of the public (government) should not suppress the public and public representatives...” he added.
