According to intelligence reports during the investigations it has been revealed that the Senior DIG Lalith Jayasinghe has abused his power to provide the main suspect, Mahalingam Sivakumar, with an opportunity to flee the country.

The reports further say that the investigation units have also directed their attention towards whether there was an attempt to discredit the government through an unavoidable public outrage towards the releasing of the main suspect from police custody in such a manner.

Conspiracy ?

Furthermore, several incidents has come into light where the alleged Senior DIG has been involved in the illegal activities took place in South during the Rajapaksa rule and the investigation units have directed their attention whether even the gang rape and murder of Vithya is a conspiracy to create civil unrest in the country.

The suspicions have raised as it has been revealed that the main suspect Mahalingam Sivakumar is an active member of the Rajapaksa government who has been involved in many crimes including drug smuggling.
