Fort Magistrate Priyantha Liyanage issued the warrant for the arrest of General Secretary of Bodu Bala Sena Ven. Galagoda Aththe Gnanasara Thero and two other monks.

Reportedly, the BBS leader and two other monks have not appeared in court today in connection with two cases filed against them.

In one case, charges have been filed against the Gnanasara Thera for allegedly making defamatory remarks against Quran opposite the Slave Island police station and in the other the monk is charged for obstructing a media briefing organized by the Jathika Bala Sena (JBS) at the Nippon Hotel in Colombo last year.
