Creators of 'Ranil-Mangala clashes' caught red handed Featured

Two individuals have been caught red handed, after probing into the wave of news citing that there is a rift between Prime minister Ranil Wickremesinghe and Minister of Foreign Affairs - Mangala Samaraweera.

Speaking to 'Sri Lanka Mirror', a senior official of the Prime minister's office has aid that the duo had been caught with evidence.

The duo are revealed to be a senior journalist of a prominent national newspaper in the country and a media coordinating officer of the Prime minister's office.

The senior official added that the duo had acted on the wants of the a bigwig of the Prime minister's office who has a political conflict with minister Samaraweera.

The mission to launch such bogus reports was initiated using computers and email addresses of the Prime minister's office and the above mentioned media coordinating officer had gained publicity for the news after giving it to junior journalists and web journalists.

According to the above mentioned news items, the Foreign minister was omitted from the Prime minister's tour of Japan. Dejected, minister Samaraweera had gone to London, the report added.

Speaking further, the senior official of the Prime minister's office said that Foreign minister had gone to London on the bidding of the President and Prime minister, after being given a special diplomatic task.

PM lauds Mangala :

After joining the Prime minister before his Japan tour ended, the Foreign minister had also joined a dinner banquet where the Prime minister as well as the highest representatives of the Japanese government attended.

Speaking, the Prime minister has lauded Mr. Samaraweera for his extraordinary work to bring about the democratic change on Jan. 08, 2015.

Meanwhile, the Prime minister and the Foreign minister have also held talks to take a firm decision on certain officials who had been at the Foreign ministry during the days of the Rajapaksa regime.

As the Geneva issue has been solved, the Prime minister has emphasised the need to restructure the Foreign ministry in order to realise the future development goals of Sri Lanka.

Economist Harsha de Silva was appointed as Deputy Foreign minister for this purpose.
