Former ASP of the CID Senaka Kumarasinghe told Sri Lanka Mirror the report had been handed over to former internal transport minister Ranjith Madduma Bandara.
He said the future course of action with regard to the inquiry was irrelevant to him.
When contacted, DIG of the FCID Ravi Vaidyalankara said he could not speak, as he was at a conference.
Minister Madduma Bandara of the 100 day government appointed the committee comprising retired Badulla district secretary Newton Perera, former ASP of the CID Senaka Kumarasinghe, internal auditor of the public administration ministry D.M.I. Gunasekara and internal transport ministry auditor P.S. Karunaratne as its convener.
When asked as to what action has been taken with regard to the report, Madduma Bandara said he lodged complaints with the bribery commission and the FCID, but that no investigations have been done by these institutions so far.
With the appointment of Nimal Siripala de Silva as the transport minister of the new government, attempts are reportedly being made to sweep the investigation under the carpet.
