The CID sources said that two politicians are attempting to purchase the CSN Radio stations, namely Sinha FM, Red FM, and a Tamil station, but the court order has prevented the sale from taking place pending ongoing investigations.

 

The Kaduwela Magistrate’s court had recently issued an interim order banning the sale, lease or temporary transfer of the CSN sports TV channel.

 

The order was issued in accordance with a FCID submission under B/9823.

 

The FCID, investigating as to how funding was received to start the channel, had been permitted by courts to summon its directors for questioning under the Money Laundering Act.

 

The FCID sources had also stated that there were attempts being made to sell the sports channel and that several parties had expressed interest in purchasing the channel.

 

The officials had further said that investigations have revealed many discrepancies, but since the investigations are still going on, they cannot reveal any details of the investigation.

 

However, the officials added that once the investigations are complete, details will be made public and those involved will be exposed.
