The Prime minister had called for a report on the activity of intelligence units from highly placed government officials and he had received the report after returning from his tour to India.

The decision was taken after a discussion between President Maithripala Sirisena and Prime minister Ranil Wickremesinghe and is said to be based on the above report, state sources say.

It is said that the report contained details pertaining to the activity of intelligence units in the last 09 years.
