He stated this while addressing the media in Kandy.

The Leadership training programme was initiated as per a concept of former Minister of Higher Education - S.B. Dissanayaka. Minister Kiriella said that students had undergone several issues and difficulties during the training.

Therefore, it was decided to suspend the training, the minister said.

Speaking further, the minister has said that discussions will be held to resolve issues faced by undergraduates and to enable them to continue their studies freely.
