20 million sexual enhancement pills sold annually in SL Featured

The Dangerous Drugs Control Board states that annually 20 million sexual stimulant pills are sold in the country.

Chairman of the board Dr Chameera Nilanga also stated that these stimulant pills are used without proper medical advice and that the purchasing of them remains similar to the number of paracetamol tablets purchased, reports 'Hiru FM'.

In the recent past there were number of cases reported where death was caused by over dose of such medication.

Yesterday, a 52 year old man of a couple who was staying at a rest house located in Marawila – Muhudukatuwa has died after he was admitted to the hospital.

The police media spokesman's office reported that a packing of a sexual stimulant pill was found in a pocket of the deceased individual.

The investigations are underway to confirm if the death was caused by the consumption of the particular pill, police further reported.
