The wife - Mayuri Inoka said that although she had repeatedly urged the previous government to help locate her husband - Madhushka Haris de Silva, her pleading was in vain.

She charges that SSP Mahesh Senaratne and the IGP are attempting to sweep this incident under the carpet.

Yesterday, she was summoned to the CID to obtain a statement.

When I complained about SSP Mahesh Senaratne and the IGP, the policewoman taking down my statement had inquired from a higher officer whether that part of the statement should be taken down or not, she added.
