The report was handed over when a petition filed by the Centre for Environmental Justice was taken up today (02).

The petition called for all herbicides containing Arsenic to be banned from the local market.

Considering the petition earlier, the Attorney General was ordered to produce a comprehensive report after conducting a complete probe on the herbicides available in the local market.

Accordingly, the report was tabled before the Appeal Court today, said Executive Director of the Centre for Environmental Justice - Hemantha Withanage while speaking to 'Sri Lanka Mirror'.

The Appeal Court informed that the petition would be taken up again on October 10 and the a decision will be made after considering the report.
