SLFP unhappy over ministerial positions

SLFP unhappy over ministerial positions Featured

The SLFP is unhappy over an offer to accept second string ministerial positions, while the UNP retains all key portfolios.

Speaking to Sri Lanka Mirror, a SLFP senior said they had informed the president that it would be more prestigious for them to sit in the opposition, rather than getting politically demeaned.

The SLFP has also sent to the UNP several amendments to the MoU signed on August 21 to form a national government.

Along with his observations, UNP general secretary Kabir Hashim has sent them to prime minister Ranil Wickremesinghe for approval.

Hashim said the amendments were of minor nature, and that the people would be informed of them in due course.
