Body toxic increases non-communicable diseases

Non-communicable diseases resulting from body toxic are on the increase, warns a nutritionist.

Secretary of the Nutrition Society Dr. Damien de Silva says this is due to a reduction in the production of anti-oxidants that destroy toxic formed in the body.

This in turn causes changes in genes, leading to cancer and other diseases.

The solution could be taking to good food habits, including the indigenous foods, and organic farming, he says.
