The letter which contains three points has been sent in response to the letter sent by President Maithripala Sirisena yesterday (13).

In the letter Mahinda Rajapaksa has appreciated the comment in the yesterday's letter claiming that UPFA will win the election and denied the allegations leveled against him.

He has further requested the President to respect the public decision in the election to be held on August 17 in the similar way he respected the decision made by the public on 8 January.
