All national newspapers are carrying the advertisement by the UPFA, which is titled ‘Victory certain for UPFA – Assurance for future – a Maithri rule’.

Meanwhile, ‘Maithri Mithuro’is to launch an extensive campaign tomorrow to promote the party leader, highlighting the references to Maithri rule contained in the UPFA manifesto.

Advisers have proposed to the president that in the event the UPFA gains any victory at the upcoming parliamentary election, he too, should be party to that, without allowing his predecessor Mahinda Rajapaksa to claim the entire commendation for that.

However, president Sirisena told the media while announcing the election that he would remain impartial.
