The suspect, Vidanagamage Amila was claimed to have gone missing while returning home after the court took up the case on Thursday.

Police Spokesman Ruwan Gunasekara confirmed that the suspect Vidanagamage Amila had been taken into custody by a special CID team in connection with several ongoing probes.

It is said that he has been arrested over a probe being conducted over the recent shooting incident in Bloemandhal area where gunmen opened fire on supporters of Ravi Karunanayake.

Upon thinking that Amila was arrested by the police, his relations had even gone to the Keselwatta police to inquire on that regard but learnt that the police had not arrested him.
