Namal out from Hambantota

Namal out from Hambantota Featured

Namal Rajapaksa the eldest son of former President Mahinda Rajapaksa who won the Hambantota district at the last 2010 April election with a preference vote of over 84%, will this time lose the district says a forecast published by senior journalist and political analyst Kusal Perera.

Projecting the district result the forecast says, UNP will win 03 out of the 07 seats, with JVP winning 02 seats. The UPFA will therefore have only 02 seats, the forecast says.

Detailing the lineup of the UPFA in Hambantota district, the forecast says, “The most stunning prediction is that UPFA in Hambantota will have only one Rajapaksa and that will not be Namal Rajapaksa. The UPFA list they say will be topped by Mahinda Amaraweera and not by a Rajapaksa”

Hambantota district is considered the bastion of Rajapaksas ever since Mahinda Rajapaksa’s uncle D.M won the Hambantota seat in 1936 State Council election.
