The Central Environmental Authority and the Coast Conservation Department are the co-respondents.

The three respondents are accused of ignoring protests by environmentalists and going ahead with the rally that had begun on August 02.

Coordinator of the Environment and Nature Education Centre Ravindra Kariyawasam said it was shameful the commando regiment had conducted the rally, which proceeds across precious forests in the northern, eastern and Uva provinces, for a second time.
