Speaking, police media spokesman - ASP Ruwan Gunasekara said that a T-56 Magazine has been discovered from the car.
Police say the gunmen had fled after the shooting.
The incident occurred around 11.30am in front of the Kotahena St. Benedict's College ground.
One female supporter was killed while over 10 others were hospitalised with injuries. According to sources from the Colombo National Hospital, two persons are in serious condition.
The deceased is identified as Siththy Naseema (42). Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe visited the residence of the victim yesterday and expressed his condolences.
CID probe :
The CID is tasked with holding investigations on this regard and several persons have already been questioned, the police spokesman added.
This was the first bloody incident reported so far ahead of the 2015 General election.
