SLFP CC to convene tonight

A sudden Central Committee meeting of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) is to be held at 8.00pm today (15).

They are to take a decision on the political situation that aroused after President Maithripala Sirisena's controversial statement yesterday.

Speaking to 'Sri Lanka MIrror', SLFP General secretary - Anura Priyadarshana Yapa said that the President's statement had collapsed the entire SLFP election mechanism and it was a tragedy.

He added that the party CC was summoned as he cannot take a solitary decision on the matter.
